Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Trauma Therapy

From small setbacks to major trauma, we are all influenced by our memories and by experiences we may not remember or fully understand.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy utilizes a protocol that combines cognitive therapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy, somatic therapy, and neuroscience techniques to minimize the suffering around past trauma. These may include negative life events that people might not recognize as traumatic, such as a hypercritical or absent parent, bullying or teasing as a child, etc.

Nancy uses EMDR therapy for clients with a range of traumatic disorders including developmental traumas such as neglect or child abuse, sexual trauma, and post-traumatic stress disorder, among others.

EMDR therapy is not limited to traumatic disorders. it can also be utilized to help clients with phobias, panic attacks, complicated grief, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, stress, addictions, relationship problems, adjustment disorders, chronic pain, personality disorders, and performance anxiety. EMDR therapy has proven safe and effective for both adults and children.
